Why every plan includes free migration

Migration used to be a paid add-on. It isn't any more — it's included on every plan, including the free one.
The reasoning
Moving mail hosts is the single largest obstacle to moving mail hosts. Not price, not features: the fear that something will be lost, and that the day it happens will be spent explaining to colleagues why their sent folder is empty.
Charging for the fix meant putting a price on the exact moment a customer is most nervous. It also meant the people most likely to skip it — small teams, watching every line item — were the ones most likely to end up doing a manual copy at 11pm and losing something.
What "free migration" actually covers
- Any IMAP source. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, cPanel, or a server you've had since 2011. Presets for the common ones.
- Everything, not just the inbox. Sent mail, drafts, custom folders, read state, and original dates — so the archive still looks like an archive rather than a pile of mail that all arrived today.
- Read-only on the source. We connect to your old provider to copy from it. We never modify or delete anything there, so the fallback is always "just don't switch the MX record yet".
- Delta sync. Run the copy again before you cut over, and only what arrived since last time moves. No gap, no duplicates.
The order that makes it safe
Switching your MX records is the last step, not the first. Until you do it, mail keeps arriving at your old host and the copy keeps catching up. If something looks wrong, you haven't committed to anything.
That ordering is the whole trick, and it's the reason migration is boring when it's done properly. We'd rather it was boring for everyone than paid for by some.
