Usage reports

Delivery, engagement, volume, domain health and security, over a period you choose.

What this is

Reports are the summarised view of your mail over a period: how much you sent, how much arrived, how people responded, and how your domains are holding up.

Where Email logs answers a question about one message, reports answer questions about all of them.

How it works

There are five reports, each answering a different question.

  • Email delivery — how much was delivered, bounced and failed, and the top reasons for bounces.
  • Engagement — open and click rates, and which subject lines did best.
  • Volume trends — how much you send over time, including your peak day and daily average.
  • Domain health — a per-domain view, with anything critical called out.
  • Security — what was caught before it reached anyone.

Each one is drawn for the date range you pick at the top of the page.

Export is different from what is on screen. It queues a report to be generated in the background, because a large range takes longer than a page load should. Generated reports appear in their own list underneath with a status, and you download the file once it is complete.

Set it up

Nothing to configure. This is how to use it.

  1. Go to Reports and choose the date range you care about.
  2. Move between the reports along the top. The range stays as you move.
  3. Read Domain health first if something feels wrong — problems there explain numbers everywhere else.
  4. Press Export when you need the figures outside Mailyte. It does not download immediately; it queues.
  5. Watch for it under Generated reports. When the status reaches completed, download it. A failed one can be exported again.

When something is wrong

A report is empty. Either nothing was sent in that range, or the range is wrong. Widen it and check again.

Export seems to do nothing. It is generating. The row appears in the generated list with its status, and finishes there rather than in your downloads.

The numbers disagree with Email logs. Check the ranges match. Logs are per event and reports are per period, so a message that was sent on one day and bounced on the next is counted in different places by design.

Engagement looks worse than you expect. Opens are undercounted wherever images are blocked. Compare against your own history rather than an outside benchmark.
