Your profile and security
Your own details, password, two-factor authentication and signed-in devices.
What this is
Profile is about you, not your organization: your contact details, how you sign in, which devices are signed in, what you get notified about, and how the dashboard looks.
Changing anything here affects only your own account.
How it works
The page is divided into a few areas.
Profile and contact information — your name, email, phone, department, location and timezone. Timezone is worth setting properly: it decides how times are shown to you across the dashboard.
Password — change your own sign-in password.
Two-factor authentication — a second step at sign-in, so a stolen password is not enough on its own. This is the single most valuable switch on the page.
Devices — the sessions currently signed in as you. Anything you do not recognise can be signed out.
Notifications — what you want to be told about.
Accent colour — the dashboard's colour, stored for you in your browser. It is a personal preference, not organization branding, so changing it changes nothing for your colleagues.
Set it up
- Go to Profile and complete your details, including your timezone.
- Turn on two-factor authentication. Do it now rather than after an incident, and keep whatever recovery method it gives you somewhere that is not the phone.
- Review Devices. Sign out anything you do not recognise, and anything on a machine you no longer use.
- Set your notification preferences to what you will actually read. Notifications everyone ignores are worse than none.
- Pick an accent colour if you like. It is yours alone.
When something is wrong
You are signed out unexpectedly. Check Devices — a session you signed out is a session you signed out. If it keeps happening on the same machine, it is usually a browser clearing its storage.
Two-factor codes are refused. Almost always the device's clock. These codes are time-based, and a phone a minute out of step produces codes that will not work.
You cannot see a page a colleague can. That is your role, not your profile. See Team and roles.
You changed the accent and a colleague sees the old one. Correct — it is per person and stored in your browser.
You forgot your password. Use the reset link on the sign-in page. If your account is the organization's only Owner and you cannot get in, open a ticket.
