Organization settings
Your organization's details, the permission matrix, and what is not yet enforced.
What this is
Organization Settings holds the details that describe your organization in Mailyte — its name, its plan, when it was created — along with the permission matrix and a security section.
Only the Owner can change what is here. Admins can see it.
How it works
The page has three tabs.
General shows your organization's name, its status, the plan you are on and when the organization was created, with shortcuts to the things people come here looking for: inviting team members, adding a domain, and API keys.
Roles and permissions is the reference for who can do what. It is not a set of switches — it documents how permission actually works, which is worth reading before you hand someone Admin:
- Everyone, including Viewers, can see the dashboard and the reports.
- Owners and Admins manage domains, team members and billing.
- Only the Owner can change organization settings or delete the organization.
Security policy is a preview. The controls are drawn — two-factor enforcement, password length and expiry, session timeout, IP restrictions — but there is nothing behind them yet, so setting them enforces nothing. They are shown so you can see what is coming, not so you can rely on them today. If you need one of these enforced now, say so in a ticket; that is what moves it up the queue.
Deleting the organization is permanent and removes everything with it.
Set it up
- Go to Organization Settings.
- On General, check the organization name is what you want your team to see, and confirm the plan matches what you expect to be billed for. See Billing and plans if it does not.
- Read Roles and permissions before inviting anyone as Admin. The row that matters most is the one you cannot delegate: organization settings and deletion are the Owner's alone.
- Ignore Security policy for now beyond a look. Nothing there is enforced yet, and treating it as though it were is worse than knowing it is not.
- If the Owner is leaving the company, sort that out before their last day — see the note below.
When something is wrong
You cannot edit anything. You are an Admin, not the Owner. Only the Owner can change settings here.
You set a password policy and it is not enforced. It is not implemented. The preview banner on that tab is accurate.
The plan shown is not the plan you agreed. Check Billing and plans first, then open a ticket with what you expected — plan mismatches are usually a billing record rather than a settings problem.
The Owner has left and nobody can administer the organization. Open a support ticket. Ownership transfer is deliberately not something an Admin can do alone.
